Update: The final version of ISO 9001:2015 has been released, as has the final version of ISO 14001:2015
ISO/FDIS 9001:2015 has just been released, taking the international standardization community one step closer to the final release of ISO 9001:2015. Building on the previously released draft international standard of ISO 9001, the final draft international standard (FDIS) release incorporates continued discussion and submitted comments from a range of affected and interested parties, all working together to produce the next revision of ISO 9001.
ISO 9001 is one of the world's most widely used standards, dealing with quality management systems in many different industries and fields. Additionally, through the integration of Annex SL, ISO 9001 will be synced up to other management system standards (MSS), to make the process of using multiple MSS more straightforward and readily accessible.
Additionally, ISO/FDIS 14001:2015 has also just been released, representing the same step forward for environmental management system standardization. Now released for a vote by ISO member bodies, organizations that currently use them can use this period to get a head start on implementing the standard.
